Activity Description

Afriski Day Tour: Summit the Roof of Africa
Experience the magic of the Maluti Mountains with our premier 4×4 shuttle service from Clarens. We handle the logistics so you can focus on the breathtaking landscapes of the “Kingdom in the Sky.”

The Journey
Your adventure begins with a convenient pick-up from your accommodation in Clarens. You’ll travel in a rugged, comfortable 4×4 SUV—perfectly equipped to navigate the steep climbs and 122 bends of the highlands.

As we ascend, we take you through the Lesotho heartland and up the legendary Mahlasela Pass, reaching a staggering 3,222m above sea level. Along the way, enjoy light snacks and refreshments while your experienced registered guide shares insights into the local culture and the dramatic cliffs that define this region.

The Destination: Afriski Mountain Resort
Once at Afriski, the day is yours to explore. Choose your pace with a variety of seasonal activities:

Winter (June – August): Master the slopes with skiing and snowboarding, or enjoy family-friendly fun with bum boarding and snow tubing.

Summer: Explore the network of high-altitude hiking trails or take in the panoramic mountain vistas.

Dining: No trip is complete without a visit to Sky Restaurant—the highest restaurant in Africa—to enjoy a meal with a view that is truly unparalleled.

Customer Reviews

Excellent Service, our driver was kind and giving very informative tour guidance, was kind and patient with us. He could speak Sotho and we're talking all the way through to afriski and back there was no need to play music in the car. We had a blast!! Thank you Maluti - Carol

I had an excellent experience. The driver was incredibly friendly, professional, and made the entire journey comfortable and enjoyable. The service was amazing and exceeded my expectations. This was by far one of the best shuttle experiences I've had, and I truly appreciate the outstanding customer service. I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking for reliable and exceptional transportation. Thank you for making our trip such a pleasant one! - Mamello

Excellent service and great snacks. We went through the border seamlessly and everything was taken care of for our group. We arrived to Afriski and back to our accommodation safely. - Leyah

We used Maluti Mountain Adventures as our shuttle service from Clarens to Afriski in Lesotho on 30/06/2026, and they were absolutely incredible! We had booked skiing lessons and needed to arrive earlier than the usual 9:00 meeting time for equipment collection and preparation. Grayson went above and beyond --- he was already at our guesthouse around 6:30, ready to pick us up and make sure we arrived on time without any stress. The vehicle was spotless, comfortable, and even stocked with snacks and drinks, which was such a thoughtful touch. Grayson was extremely friendly and professional, and his knowledge of Lesotho made the drive even more special. He shared so many interesting facts along the way and happily answered all our questions. He also assisted us through the border process, which made everything so much easier. Another great benefit is that the guides stay at Afriski while you enjoy your activities and then safely take you back to your accommodation or pick-up point afterwards. I would highly recommend Maluti Mountain Adventures --- not only for their excellent service and hospitality, but also because the road to Afriski can be quite challenging, and having an experienced local guide makes the journey so much safer and more enjoyable. Thank you, Grayson and Maluti Mountain Adventures, for helping make our Lesotho adventure such a memorable one! - Jacqui
