The Ride of a Lifetime
The Route: Navigate a challenging and scenic 15-kilometer mountain trail that winds through rugged terrain, seasonal river crossings, and pristine game-viewing areas.
The Summit: Reach the mountain peak for truly magnificent panoramic views of Clarens and the vast Eastern Free State highlands.
Cultural Stop: Along the way, we visit a national monument cave featuring historical San rock art, where you can pause to soak in the silence of the mountains.

4×4 Quad

We have five 4×4 quads available and each quad may take a passenger. Groups of more than 5 usually split up with riders and passengers.
The route is approximately 15 kilometers long, and takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours to complete depending on the size of the group and experience of the riders.
No driver’s license is required as there is no legal requirement to have a license in order to ride a quad.

The quad biking experience was truly unforgettable, both thrilling and deeply humbling. From the moment we set off, the journey offered a perfect balance of excitement and natural beauty. Riding through rugged terrain, we made our way up a mountain, where the panoramic views alone made the trip worthwhile. At the top, we began a short 10-minute hike that led us to a breathtaking cave rich in history and cultural significance. Inside, we encountered remarkable rock paintings created by the San people, whose ancestors are believed to have lived in the area for over 20,000 years. Standing in that space felt powerful, as if we were briefly connected to a distant past. The setting was further enhanced by the distant calls of baboons echoing across the landscape, a reminder of the untamed wilderness surrounding us. Nearby, a gentle stream of flowing water added a soothing, almost meditative quality to the environment. Every element, from the scenery to the historical depth, came together seamlessly, creating a moment that felt almost surreal. Good value for money as the activity is approx.' 13-15 km in length which equates to about 2.5-3 hours of heart-pounding full-on quad-biking through picturesque views. The guides are really friendly and helpful, and the quad-biking experience itself is really fun. Fast bikes and a great off-road trail set the standard.
